A new Renaissance
The Renaissance was an era when Literature, the Arts and Science where in full bloom and that deeply inspires us still today, as shown by the works from contemporary artists who revisit ancient paintings or big fashion houses’ collections with a modern twist. Such cultural splendor changed the way man was perceived and brought about a new conception of life alongside with the reinstatement of ethical values and a greater freedom of thought and expression.
The Renaissance still holds a powerful appeal over us as it reminds us of what we are capable of when we cultivate change or turn it into action and creativity. How many times are we reborn in the course of our life? How many times we change the way we perceive the world or see with new eyes the reality that surrounds us, maybe with the “amazement of first times”? A sharper vision that sometimes may turn into deep understanding or, on the contrary, may raise new interrogatives, since each image carries with itself a secret, something mysterious and unfathomable that may not be labeled or fully explained.

Inspired by this celebration of the art of light, Vogue Italia and Huawei, main partner of BASE at Photo Vogue Festival, call all photographers to take up the challenge to represent #AnewReinassance visually for the festival’s third edition.
Starting now and until the end of August Vogue Italia’s photo editors have begun a scouting process on Instagram to award the best 50 photos uploaded with the hashtag #AnewRenaissance #HUAWEIPVF2018. The photographs will be published on Vogue.it and the 5 most deserving photographers among them will be reporting for Vogue Italia during the Milan Fashion Week, equipped with Huawei P20 and P20 Pro cameras. But it doesn’t end here : among these 5, one very lucky photographer will have the chance to create a photo shoot featuring the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro for the magazine’s November issue and will have his/her dedicated talk during the Photo Vogue Festival. In addition, the 50 photos selected at the end of the scouting process and of the fashion week diaries will be collected in a book to be distributed during the international event entirely dedicated to fashion photography to be held in Milan. All you need to do now is to grab your camera and show us what “A New Renaissance” means to you by uploading your shots on Instagram with the hashtag #anewrenaissance #huaweiPVF2018, and mentioning @vogueitalia and @huaweimobileit.
